Michael Schaff

Michael Schaff is an innovative leader with more than 35 years of international crisis response and emergency management experience. Michael retired from the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department as a Battalion Chief in the Special Operations Division where he served as the program manager of the worlds most deployed disaster response team USA-1. He also served as a member of the United Nations Disaster Assessment and Coordination team, leading global responses to some of the most destructive natural disasters worldwide. He has had numerous international deployments as a subject matter expert supporting host country leadership in best practice response and mitigation efforts. As a subject matter expert, Michael advises clients on best practices covering a range of areas from policy development and implementation to advising on real-time operational response strategies.
