MISSION-READY PROTECTIVE OPERATIONS
Protection Led by Proven Operators
Salus protects people, facilities, operations, information, and movement in the United States and internationally.
Our personnel include former federal agents, military officers, police commanders, investigators, intelligence professionals, SWAT
commanders, aviation-security leaders, hostage negotiators, and licensed protection professionals.
They have protected senior government officials, corporate executives, critical-infrastructure leaders, public figures, facilities, transportation systems, major events, and sensitive operations across six continents.
Understand the threat. Control the exposure. Protect the mission.

The Bottom Line
Protective operations are not about looking important.
They are about preventing predictable problems, recognizing developing threats, controlling exposure, and responding decisively when conditions change.
A protective team must understand:
-
Who or what is being protected
-
The threats and hazards that matter
-
The operating environment
-
Routes, venues, schedules, and vulnerabilities
-
Local security and emergency resources
-
Medical, communications, and evacuation contingencies
-
Who has authority to make decisions
-
What happens when the original plan fails
Salus brings these elements together.

Proven Leadership Behind Every Mission
Executive and International Protection
Wayne Black has more than 45 years of experience in security, investigations, law enforcement, and protective operations.
For more than a decade, he served as Security Advisor and Protection Detail Lead for former Secretary of Defense Donald H.
Rumsfeld and the Rumsfeld Foundation. He has supervised protective details and special-threat assignments across the United States, Central Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and South America.
Following September 11, he supervised classified Department of Homeland Security red-team assessments at national-security locations and events. He has also conducted federal security assessments at United States seaports and served in organized-crime, public-corruption, and federal task-force assignments.
Federal Law Enforcement and Aviation Security
Scott Pickett brings nearly four decades of experience in federal law enforcement, aviation security, firearms intelligence, investigations, behavioral recognition, critical infrastructure, and executive protection.
He held senior responsibilities with ATF, the Federal Air Marshal Service, and the Transportation Security Administration, including service as an Assistant Special Agent in Charge.
His protective experience includes sensitive deployments involving senior government officials and support to presidential-protection activities in coordination with the United States Secret Service. He is a licensed peace officer, licensed diplomatic and executive protection officer, licensed private investigator, and Certified Forensic Interviewer.
Special Operations Command
Bradley Amstutz brings more than 30 years of law-enforcement and special-operations experience.
As a SWAT commander, he coordinated protective activities for presidential and vice-presidential visits and other senior officials.
He directed or supported operations involving national political events, professional championship events, government facilities, airports, nuclear facilities, schools, universities, transportation systems, and major public venues.
His experience includes tactical command, investigations, field operations, training, crisis intervention, and the supervision of specialized personnel.
Protective Intelligence and Global Coordination
Marc Duncan leads Salus protective operations and Station Managers supporting missions throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean, and the Middle East.
His work includes executive and diplomatic protection, intelligence, counterterrorism preparedness, investigations, aviation security, disaster operations, and support within high-risk international environments.
He is a licensed diplomatic and executive protection professional, licensed private investigator, firearms instructor, and operational leader with more than three decades of experience.
Crisis Judgment and Domestic Operations
Joe Waring, CPP, supports domestic executive protection, protective intelligence, investigations, advance work, logistics, liaison, and incident response.
His law-enforcement background includes supervision, hostage negotiation, crisis intervention, mental-health response, peer support, and critical-incident operations. He served on the board of the Texas Association of Hostage Negotiators and is a licensed protection and investigative professional.
That background matters because protection is not always about physical intervention. Often, the best outcome depends on recognizing behavior, establishing communication, de-escalating the situation, and preventing the confrontation.

How Salus Operates
Intelligence Before Movement
We identify what is known, what is changing, what remains uncertain, and what could affect the mission.
Advance Before Arrival
We examine the environment, establish coordination, confirm resources, and develop contingencies before exposure begins.
Discipline During the Mission
The team remains focused on the protected person, operating environment, communications, timing, and changes that may require action.
Command When Conditions Change
When the plan no longer fits the situation, experienced leadership matters. Salus personnel understand command, coordination, escalation, and rapid decision-making.
Reporting After the Mission
Relevant observations, incidents, changes, and lessons are documented. That information strengthens the next protective plan and, when appropriate, informs SalINTEL, SalTHIRA, and the Protected Member’s continuing operating picture.
Quiet, Disciplined, and Accountable
Professional protection should support the principal’s work—not become the center of attention.
Salus emphasizes:
-
Discretion
-
Preparation
-
Professional appearance and conduct
-
Clear authority
-
Reliable communications
-
Operational discipline
-
Proportionate response
-
Coordination with local resources
-
Accurate reporting
-
Respect for the protected person and organization
There is no room for ego on a protective assignment.
The mission comes first.
We Will Tell You What the Mission Requires
Salus will not provide false reassurance.
If the threat requires more personnel, better intelligence, a route change, additional coordination, a schedule adjustment, stronger access control, or cancellation of an activity, we will say so.
If the requirement can be handled with a smaller and less intrusive posture, we will say that too.
Our responsibility is to provide an honest operational judgment and the capability needed to carry it out.
Protection That Performs
Salus protective operations are backed by people who have commanded tactical units, federal investigations, aviation-security programs, international details, crisis negotiations, disaster operations, and protection for senior government and corporate leaders.
We understand that protective operations can change in seconds.
We prepare accordingly.
No theater. No complacency. No preventable surprises.
